About Gun Safe Report
Gun Safe Report reviews gun safes, handgun safes, gun cabinets and racks, home and fireproof safes, drop safes and home security cameras, starting from one question: what are you protecting against? Curious children, a burglar, a house fire and a 2am emergency each call for a different kind of storage.
How we work
Our guides are researched from published sources: manufacturers’ specifications and stated ratings, testing and standards bodies such as UL and Intertek (ETL), state statutes and regulators, federal agencies, and peer-reviewed research. Every figure, rating and legal point on a page is tied to a source in that page’s Sources list or to the manufacturer’s own listing. We do not run a test lab and we do not test products ourselves; product comparisons are based on published specifications, and we say whether a fire or burglary rating comes from an independent test or is the manufacturer’s own claim.
We put child access first. No safe, lock or cabinet replaces supervision, and a cabinet is not a safe.
What we do not do
We do not sell or link to firearms or ammunition. This site covers storage and home security products only.
Keeping it current
Storage laws, product lineups and prices change. Pages carry the date their facts were checked. If you spot something out of date, email [email protected].
